yesterday was my hubby's last day on the job. although he has a mix feeling about leaving and going into a totally different line, his gut assured him this is what he wants. i luv my hubby and i hope that his decision will bring him the fulfillment and happiness he seeks.
his new line? i think it is best justified as 'from passion to business'.
well, actually everything happens too fast. the initial plan was to do freelance and sell nasi lemak to neighbouring shops and concurrently supplying to night-shift personnels. the next thing we knew, we started looking for ads pertaining to stalls for rent. and last saturday while having breakfast we stumbled on an attractive offer ~ a malay food stall at a hawker centre in an industrial area was available for rent. we went to view the stall, met the vendor (alias tawkey), bargained on the monthly rent, signed the contract, paid the deposit, took the typhoid jab and applied for license at nea (national environment agency). and our itinerary for this weekend -
- shop for utensils, cutleries and crockeries
- draw up the menu
- confirm the marketing list
- meet the suppliers
- clean and tidy up the stall
- last but not least - take the kids out to celebrate!!!
but my major concern - if i join my hubby in full force, what should i wear? how about basic cosmetic? and if my hubby insist that i put on an apron, it will only be the long apron like those worn by french waitress. i know i only worry on the unnecessaries...but hey, this is me and i refuse to look like one canteen auntie!!!
i shall start a new blog soon, dedicating fully on our menu, service and stall location. all posts will be accompanied with pictures, including the cover story about our signature dish that i mentioned in my previous post. oh yes...will also include my hubby's business philosophy.
so, do keep a look-out okie?!
and to my beloved laukong...congrats! you are now a sole-proprietor. all the best wishes from me *kiss kiss*.

it has been a busy december (counting down to 2008)
our year-end function went great. everyone had fun touring the garden, taking pix for memories and playing games. the best programme for the night was EAT!!! i didn't take any pic of the delicious yummy scrumptuous food though. last but not least, everyone agreed that the mandai orchid garden front-line staff had provided a 5-star service.

faiz has been down with high fever since yesterday. but we are not quite sure if it's related to the salmonella enteriditis bacteria from the chocolate cake which the children ate on my niece's birthday. it has been a week since they ate the cake, thus perhaps he might have gotten the fever from fatin.
liyana was the first one to fall ill, followed by fatin and arisha. we are glad that fatin and arisha are well now. but now faiz has been lying in bed all day, lethargic and delicate. he vomitted every food and drink he consumed. his abdominal pain had made it worse. at times, he couldn't even feel his hands and legs and i had to quickly give him a light massage to help his blood to circulate.
my sis told me that liyana's condition has improved and her diarrhoea isn't as bad as before.
i hope they both will recover soon.
